Day 31- Plan the next steps for your blog

Yes, you read that right. Day 31. It’s been a month of learning how to improve our blogs. We have learned about different posts to write, how to improve our online connections, how to better utilize statistics to understand how readers user our blog, and so much more.

We made it.

Phew.

There’s just one thing left to do.

.

Day 30: 17 Statistics to Monitor on your Blog

While statistics should not be your only focus (let’s face it, it’s easy to obsess over them!) they can provide invaluable insight. Today, we review some of the best of the 17 statistics you can use to monitor your blogging success- or areas that need improvement.

Day 29: Develop a Plan to Boost Your Blog’s Profile and Readership Online

One of the key ways to find and engage with new readers is actually pretty simple; find them first. Go visit the blogs of your desired readers. Join and participate in forums related to your niche or topics you cover regularly. A great example is The Mom Loop on BlogFrog- a perfect place for moms to connect and discuss topics they are interested in, whether it’s about life or blogging. With similar interests, participants visit other participants- an easy way to find new readers!

Check out how to do this with today’s post:

DAY 28 – Build a Better Blog

This topic seems like a natural for the blogger members of Business 2 Blogger.  Many of you can write a SERIOUS review post…probably in your sleep.

Here are my thoughts…

.

DAY 27 – Build a Better Blog

I did this last year.

It was HORRIFYING!  I came across over 250 links on my personal blog that were NOT working correctly.  The problem was that I had switched from blogger to WP and forwarded my links…which normally works well.

EXCEPT in the case of the overly long title.

And I am not short-winded.

What happens is the blogger abbreviation of my overly long title doesn’t coincide with the WP abbreviation over my overly long title.

I fixed them all by hand and then appealed to Google for a reconsideration of my PR.

And they increased it!

So, I HIGHLY recommend this task.  It could really change the way search engines see your blog.

DAY 26 – Build a Better Blog

This is one of my favorite topics and one of the reasons I thought up the concept of Business 2 Blogger…

.

Day 25 – Ask a Question

While asking a question on our blog puts us in a vulnerable situation- after all, what if no one answers us?- it is really one of the most valuable ways to engage our readers and elicit feedback.

Today’s task has us doing just that.

.

Day 24 – Build a Better Blog

I realize that not everyone has the same love of magazines that I do. It is an interesting thing, as 90% of my reading is done on my iPad or Kindle (or iPhone..) I am a bit tech-obsessed. However, I tend to subscribe to so many magazines, my husband threatens to cut me off. Luckily, 31 Days to Build a Better Blog tells me that magazines are actually tools to improve my blog- score!

DAY 23 – Build a Better Blog

Whew.

Today we are calling for ACTION!

DAY 22 – Build a Better Blog

Again, another task that I love.

I am all about online karma…and it’s effects – both bad and good.

This is something that can help your blog, but also bring readers to someone else.  Total win-win!
