3 E-Books You Should Read

MP900438678 300x300 3 E Books You Should ReadIt seems like everybody has an e-book, doesn’t it?

I think I’m still getting emails from e-books I signed up for 18 months ago and never read – a whole inbox’s worth!

And while many e-books aren’t very good, there are plenty out there that are well worth your time and in some cases, money. I want to share three of my favorites with you today. They all cover a slightly different aspect of blogging, and together, they give you a really comprehensive look at what elements of blogging are most important.

So, without further ado, let’s hit it.

Mom Blog SEO, by Kelby Carr. This is known as THE definitive source for mom bloggers looking to understand and deploy SEO on their blogs. Kelby Carr has been involved in all things internet-y for years and years and is an absolute wealth of knowledge. She also is the founder of Type-A Parent and Type-A Parent Conference. Street cred? Huge. You won’t want to miss this e-book if SEO is scary to you.

31 Days To Build A Better Blog, by Darren Rowse.  This e-book is a workbook – a 31-day guide with tasks to complete every day – that’ll have your blog in better shape to be successful in wherever you want to take it. From crafting your elevator pitch to learning how to come up with blog post ideas, this is for newbie and veteran bloggers alike.

From Blog To Business, by Esther Crawford and Jennifer James. This book is, in my opinion, the BEST resource out there for female bloggers looking to understand how to monetize their blogs. It takes the mystery out of how to do a media kit, how to work with brands, what to charge for advertising, and so much more. And it’s FREE. Free, people.

Tell me: have you purchased or downloaded any e-books on blogging? Which ones, and were they beneficial?

B2B Case Study – Promote Your Book.

Book Campaigns have proven to be the most popular of all the Business2Blogger Campaign types, and it just makes sense. Bloggers are writers, and mostly voracious readers. They are constantly looking for blog content, and if they can score a free book and suddenly have something to write about, that is one happy Blogger. But let’s look at why the author is ecstatic too…

Who can benefit?

Authors big and small, with global distribution or locally self-published. Publishers. Publicists. PR reps. You.

What do I gain?

  • expanded readership
  • very inexpensive exposure
  • targeted promotion to appropriate consumers/readers
  • blogger influence – the kind book buyers respond to
  • permanent book reviews, helps search engine optimization
  • incoming links, helps search engine optimization
  • more Amazon reviews
  • increased Facebook/Twitter following
  • potential buyer list development
  • SALES!

What do I do?

  1. Run a Campaign on B2B. Business2Blogger gives you the ability to run a basic Free Campaign to find bloggers who are interested in reading and reviewing your work, or for a small fee you can run a Paid Campaign and target either higher traffic blogs, or a specific blog genre.
  2. Decide how to compensate your Bloggers. This step’s pretty easy. Send them a free book to read and review. B2B’s only requirement for running Campaigns is that you must offer each Blogger either cash payment or something valued at $15 or more. If your book’s retail value is less than $15, consider offering something else as well, and consider donating a blog giveaway…we’ll get more into giveaways in a minute…
