Blogger Email Arrival Issues

Having a problem getting your Blogger emails? Another related question?

Yep, this issue comes up so often it gets its own page. Please read ALL of this page before you email us. If you email us and ask a question that is answered here, we are simply going to send you back here.

Here we go…

If you are a Preferred member, we SEND your email at the exact moment that we send every other Preferred member’s email. Most people, like me, receive their email literally within seconds, even though the service we pay to send the emails is over 1500 miles from my home.

That being said, when we SEND an email and when you RECEIVE your email are two different things. Between your home computer and the server that sends you your email sits obstacles like the 20-odd other computers that relay the email, your Internet Service Provider, your email program, how often your email program “checks” for new email, your spam/junk mail filter, and any email “rules” you may have set up along the way. These are the places you need to be looking for answers in, and the easiest way is to start at the end of the list that is closest to you. That’s where you’ll normally find the solution.

So I designed this Email logic path to help rule in/out the most common causes of problems in getting your email. Please read/check EACH one:

  1. MOST IMPORTANT: Create an “email/message rule” that permits ALL mail from Jay@Business2Blogger.com, and directs it to your inbox, or the folder you want your emails showing up in. DO THIS FIRST. DO IT NOW. I will include links below to help with this.
  2. NEXT: You DO know that we don’t necessarily send an email EVERY DAY, right? Check the front page sidebar of the Business2Blogger website to see when the next email will be SENT.
  3. ALSO VERY IMPORTANT: Every email program has a function that “Goes out to check” if you have email. How often do you have yours set to check? Every 5 minutes? Every 15 minutes? Every half hour? If an email is SENT at 11am, and your computer/email program doesn’t go out to check if you have an email for another half hour, at which point it notifies you, every offer may be taken by the time your computer gets around to notifying you! My best advice: If you are really serious about landing an offer, go to the B2B front page sidebar and figure out when your email will be SENT. Sit down at your computer 5 minutes before it is supposed to be SENT, and start clicking your “send/receive” or “refresh” button to make sure your email gets delivered to your inbox as soon as it is ready to be pulled down from your email server.
  4. Is your computer turned ON? (Ok, this one is a joke. We hope.)
  5. When you signed up for the Business2Blogger email, did you sign up for “Basic” status or “Preferred” status? These two groups are sent their emails at 2 separate times. Check the front page sidebar of the Business2Blogger website to see when the next email will be SENT. (Note: again, this will be when our paid service SENDS your email, not necessarily when it ARRIVES in your inbox)
  6. If you think you signed up for the wrong membership status, DO NOT EMAIL US about it. Simply click on the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of your email, and sign up again.
  7. Check your Spam folder. Check it AGAIN. This is the single most common reason I get emails. Different email programs and levels of security grab emails and think they are spam for different reasons. If you find one of our emails in your spam folder it probably means you have NOT done #1 yet, above. Create an email rule. If you have created the rule and you still find our email in your Spam folder, you need to “teach” it that our emails are NOT spam. Check the help file of your email service or program on how to do this.
  8. Some ISPs (Internet Service Providers) or email companies delay certain kinds of email. One of these culprits is SBCGlobal.net, who seems to delay our emails by 12-24 hours. We dont know why, we have zero control over this. Try changing the email address you use for your B2B account. I use Gmail, my email shows up in seconds.
  9. Check your OTHER “email rules” that you may have previously set up in your email program. You may have one that you set up for something else that is redirecting the B2B emails to a different email folder. For instance, if you previously set up a rule that redirects emails that have the phrase “mommy bloggers” in them, that rule might be grabbing the email and sending it to another folder. Check what you have in place.
  10. Email/Message Rules – these are rules you put in place in your email program to allow email from some people, not from others, redirect emails to different folders based on what is in them, etc. Each program has a different process for this, so if I don’t list yours below, check the help file of your email program for instructions.

Those are just some tips to eliminate some obvious problems. Unfortunately, beyond those, We can’t help. If you still are having problems, you will need to contact your ISP, your email provider, your PC or Mac company, or some other form of tech support. Our end is pretty simple, we just tell you when we are going to send your email, and then send it!
