Once you setup your Feedburner feed so people can easily subscribe to your blog, it’s time to take advantage for some of the other features Google offers with this service.
One such feature is the ability to have new posts auto tweeted out. Just like having Facebook auto tweet your posts, it makes life so much easier to have Feedburner send out your new posts to Twitter. (Some other cool things Feedburner lets you do: add a logo to your Feedburner feed and change the time when your feed email posts are sent out).
To set up auto tweet for Feedburner:
Login to your feedburner account and select the feed you want to edit.
Go to the “Publicize” tab along the top.
Along the left side, click on the option labeled “Socialize.”
Add Your Twitter account
To add your Twitter account, press the “Add a Twitter account” button.
Authorize Google to use your Twitter account by pressing the “Authorize App” button.
Customize Your Options
Once you have authorized Twitter, you will be taken back to Feedburner. The next section you need to customize is the “Formatting Options” for your tweet. Here you can decide what content the post will have, add a hashtag, and/or additional text.
In the section labeled “Item Selection” you can limit and filter the tweets based on your preferences (if you want).
At the bottom of this page, you will see a sample of what your tweets will look like based on the settings you have created.
Once you are done with customizing the options, press the “Activate” button at the very bottom.
Once activated, you will get a notice at the top of the page in green.
If you ever make any changes in the socialize tab, be sure to press the save button at the bottom when you are done.
That’s it. Now your new posts will be auto tweeted out by Feedburner.
Pretty easy, huh?
