In addition to the tips I gave on how to customize your Facebook fan page, you can also make it unique using tabs.
Tabs show up right under the cover photo on fan pages and the standard ones are photos and page likes. You can see them in the screen shot below, circled in red.
But you know you want more than those two tabs so that when people visit your fan page you can suck them in, I mean entertain them.
Luckily there are many options for you when it comes to tabs on your Facebook fan page. And tabs can easily be changed whenever you want, you can add new ones, delete old ones, etc. so don’t feel pressured with what you do.
So, here are some ideas for you Facebook fan page tabs that you can use:
Instagram Photos
Are you addicted to Instagram like I am? Show off those beautiful square pictures on your fan page. (If you aren’t on Instagram then you need to read this post on why bloggers should use Instagram).
You can use Statigram to create a feed tab for your Instagram photos, it’s really easy. I promise. After you login with your Instagram account, go to the Promote tab and follow the directions listed under “Feed tab for fan page.” (Learn more about Statigram and other fun things you can do with your pictures in the post 5 Sites to use with Instagram).

Showcase Your Pins
I don’t even think I need to ask if you are addicted to Pinterest. Because of course you are. Share your latest pins with your Facebook fans by using a tab dedicated to Pinterest.
You can use Shortstack and Woobox are just two companies that you can use to make a Pinterest tab for your fan page.

Share your videos
Do Google + hangouts, YouTube videos, etc that you want your fans to watch over and over? Showcase them in a tab dedicated to video.
Upload your videos to your Facebook fan page like you do photos. Then click on the little drop down arrow on the last tab. After that, blank tabs will have a plus in the top right corner. Click on the plus, select “Videos” to add to favorites. That’s it. Now you have a tab dedicated to your uploaded videos.

Run a contest
Holding a special contest for your fans? Do it through a Facebook fan page tab. This needs to be done with a third party app such as Shortstack so that you comply with Facebook’s regulations but the possibilities are pretty endless when it comes to the types of contests you can run.

Something Extra
Want to reward your fans with something extra? Maybe share a printable, special recipes, exclusive content, etc. I do this during the holiday season for my cocktail blog with a tab for special drink recipes available only to the page’s Facebook fans.
Again this would be done with a third party app but it’s a great way to give your fans something special.
Check out One Martini at a Time’s fan page to see a tab with Christmas Cocktail as something extra in action.
This list is just an idea of some of the many, many tabs you can create on your Facebook fan page. Explore your favorite pages to see what they have created and also check out companies such as Shortstack, pagemodo, and/or Woobox which are dedicated to helping your customize your Facebook fan pages.
Also, be sure you read Facebook’s guidelines for fan pages to ensure that you comply with their regulations.
So, go forth and create. And don’t forget to tell me what your favorite type of tab page is.
