Welcome to the Mom Blog Money Blog Series! For 30 days we are following the Mom Blog Money Blog Workshop (affiliate link) sharing some tips so that we can work through the steps and grow together. Grab your coffee, have a seat, and join us.
In Day 19 we talked about how email newsletters can help you make money blogging. Today we are going to discuss how to…
Earn money selling your products, services and/or your Etsy shop.
On Day 20 in Mom Blog to Money Laurie provides a little surprise for you! It is her eBook – Mompreneur Blog & Etsy Guide.
She wrote it with the goal of helping women sell handmade products online using their blogs, Etsy shops, Facebook etc.
The guide helps you to think of ways to ask your customers/readers for money.
And all the advice in the book came from 88 women in business that offered Laurie their best tips, ideas, and thoughts on being a successful Mompreneur.
For example, are you using tools you already have right under your nose to promote Etsy Shop or service? I’m talking about social media of course! Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and other social sites are a great way to bring attention to what you are selling and bring in new customers. They are also a great way to KEEP customers by engaging with them regularly.
You might also want to read this post on how to increase Facebook engagement.
One big point in the book is that good communication with customers is HUGE when it comes to being a successful business.
It also covers very helpful topics such as how to stay organized (a key ingredient to a successful business), how to advertise your product or service online (guess what? in most cases this won’t even cost you anything), and the pros and cons of using giveaways to build your business (yes, there are cons to giveaways!), and how to balance your business time vs. family time.
The book really emphasizes the importance of scheduling your business time wisely…and to work efficiently during your business time. If not, you will find that your business might not be successful…and that it is putting an unnecessary strain on your family.
A great tip is – plan ahead. Make a schedule of when you are going to work on your business and create a list of things you need to accomplish for those days. Stick just to your list on work days to ensure the highest level of productivity possible.
Several contributors to the book mentioned that their biggest money makers were their newsletters and product updates to their website. Once you discover what your big money makers are you should devote your time and energy to those things.
There is great detail in the book about how newsletters can really help your business succeed and how to get started with one.
Finally, the book wraps up with thoughts from business women on “What they wish they had known” before going into business. It’s a great way to learn first hand as they share their experiences.
Day 20 is a key day in Mom Blog to Money Blog for anyone who has a product, service, or Etsy Shop they are looking to grow.
Do you have products or services that you are trying to sell online?
Don’t miss Day 21 which focuses on how to host a successful giveaway.
