Now that you have setup your Google Plus profile page it’s time to work on a Google Plus brand page for your blog.
Learn more about the differences between Google + pages and Google + profiles.
To create a Google Plus page, go to your personal Google + page and down at the bottom you will see an option for more. Hover over that and there is a little box that says “Pages.” Click on that box.
Next click the orange box that says “Create New Page.”
Pick the main category that your brand page fits in (I think for my blog’s page I selected “Product or Brand.”
Now you will select a subcategory for your page. I think for mine I did “Website.” Click next when you are done.
The next step is to add basic info including the name of the page, a link to the external website and who the content is appropriate for. Agree to the terms and conditions and click “Continue.”
Now that your Google Plus brand page is created you can follow the same steps from setting up your personal Google + page.
The cover photo size for the Google + page is 480 x 270 pixels for the smallest size and 2120 x 1192 pixels for the largest size. I created mine using PicMonkey.com.
For your introduction section keep in mind your keywords you want for SEO and use those when linking back to your blog.
With your brand page you can also give a list of suggested circles that your page should be added to in the introduction section.
Make sure you verify your email address and your website. Here’s more on how to link your Google Plus page with your website.
Include links for all of your online profiles including Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and other sites you write for.
To add a new link click the Links section and in the pop-up box click “Add custom link.” Enter the name, URL and click save.
When you are done making changes to the about section click “Done editing” near the top of the page.
To get a Google + page badge to add your website, click the settings wheel in the top right corner on your home stream of your page and select “Get Started.”
There will be a link there to get a badge for your website and also a link to your page that you can use if creating custom social media icons for your site or if you want to promote your page on Facebook or Twitter.
You might want to read the branding guidelines for the Google Profile button.
Now you can go and add other pages to your circles and connect with people as your blog brand.
