Last week, I went over how to embed Google Plus posts. This week, I'll show you how to do the same thing with Facebook. Facebook embedded posts allow users to share public Facebook posts from people and pages directly into their blog posts and online articles.
Facebook embedded posts are just as easy as to do as G+ and again, they are helping to make social sharing full circle. Users can like, comment and share the embedded posts directly from the blog page. It also allows people to follow the content's author or like the Facebook page.
How to add Facebook embedded posts
First, find the Facebook post you want to share. It can be a status update, picture, link or video as long as it has been shared publicly. Hover over the upper right corner of the update and a drop down arrow will appear. Click on that arrow.
In that drop down box, select “Embed Post.”
A text box will appear with code for you to copy and paste along with a preview of what the post will look like after you embed it.
Paste the code into the text editor of your post where you would like it to appear. That's it. The update is now embedded into your post and your readers can interact with it.
A few things to note about this new feature:
– It only works for updates that have been shared publicly, they will have a globe icon next to the time posted.
– The size of the Facebook embedded posts cannot be changed in your site. The size is the same as it is on Facebook.
–If the author changes or deletes a post that you have embedded, a message will display that it's no longer available.
Have you used the new Facebook embed feature? Thoughts on it?
