There are several options out there for making your fan page appealing. For example, Shortstack and Pagemodo help guide you through the process. But, how do you set one up in the first place? Relax, even with all of Facebook’s recent changes, it’s still an easy process.
First, login to your Facebook account. Then, go to this link here: http://on.fb.me/pLY5Nl and click “Create a Page”.
Next, determine what category you fit into. Are you a small business promoting a product? Then Brand or Product it is. Are you focused on local businesses/blogs? Then local is probably the best way to go. Whichever area you fit into select it on this page.
Now, upload a logo. What’s important to note here is that if you have a blog or website banner, you do not want to use that image here if it is long and rectangular. Square images with a logo and/or the name work best.
Step 2 connects with your contacts. Go ahead, get the word out to those you know! Who better to support you? Then, this next step is very important. You have very little time to make a first impression, whether someone is visiting your website or your fan page for the first time. So, make sure that your basic information is filled out clearly, concisely, and captures your brand. For example, instead of “we’re a small business that has been in business for 2 years and we sell handmade items” try “Handmade Stuff promotes unique handmade baby items you can’t live without!”. Grab your intended audience’s attention.
Finally, you want to be sure to get a unique username. Instead of having a page that says http://www.facebook.com/id=?88899999998 zillion numbers here, your page can say http://www.facebook.com/NameHere. It’s a great way to personalize your page and further establish your brand. To do this, go to https://www.facebook.com/username/. Important: The first one is for your PERSONAL username. Beware of this so you don’t lose your username to your personal profile. Underneath the username is an option for page names. Set the correct name to there (drop-down box if you have more than one).
Now you’re set! A basic Facebook page is yours to start promoting your product and/or brand. Keep in mind that sharing things on Facebook is one of the key ways to engage your potential customers, so make it count!

Thank YOU! I was just wondering the other day how hard it would be to do this. Now my Facebook URL is so much shorter and more appealing
So glad we could help!
